Health (CMH) Waiver will be posted here. If you are a provider wishing
to advertise an upcoming training you are hosting, please feel free to contact

CMH Forums
The purpose of these meetings is to bring together those from
various regional areas to foster discussion, collaboration, and
education regarding CMH Waiver service delivery. Agendas will
consist of topics of regional interest as well as standing agenda items.

- Autism, Asperger's and
Related Disorders
(April 19,
2007 ~ Cherokee, Iowa (8:30
a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
+ The
purpose of this educational program is to provider consumers, families,
educators and health care professionals with information to assist with
learning to recognize the symptoms of Autism, Asperger's and Related
Disorders. Speakers: Chris Okiishi, M.D. is a psychiatrist affiliated
with the Iowa Child Health Specialty Clinics and provides childhood
psychiatric consultations across the state. He is a staff physician with
Community Mental Health Centers in Iowa City, Ottumwa, and Washington,
Iowa and lectures for the University of Iowa, Carver College of
Medicine, Dept. of Psychiatry. Edward Malewski, M.D., a board-certified
child and adolescent psychiatrist, serves as the Director of the
Children's and Adolescent Unit at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute.
Dr. Malewski recently relocated to Iowa from the Rainbow Mental Health
Facility in Kansas City and brings over 30 years of experience working
with children and adolescents.
