Learning Modules
Each module includes multiple, related topics.  Each of these topics can either be accessed from that module's home page, or by working sequentially through the entire module (pressing the "next topic" buttons).  By keeping track of which topics have been reviewed, a worker can return to a topic without going through each of the topics already reviewed.

The first module is followed by a series of review questions, where workers can then test their understanding of the concepts presented within that module.  Other modules will soon have review questions developed as well.

Introducing Module 1
The first module, Treatment Service Planning - Collaborating to Develop a Treatment Plan, is the critical first step in providing services.  Good results happen when the child and family are partners in the treatment process.  Participating in the planning process empowers the family and helps them believe that change is possible.

Good results happen when services are based on a thorough assessment which considers both strengths and needs.  The task during the planning process is for the family, provider, DHS worker and others to ascertain (from assessment and referral information) those areas where change is desired or needed.

Introducing Module 2
Module 2, Treatment Service Planning - Identifying and Utilizing Strengths in Treatment, introduces strengths, resources and practice scenarios for developing worker skills for identifying (and sometimes reframing) child and family assets (strengths) and incorporating them in treatment.  By planning treatment with an emphasis on discovering and incorporating those skills and supports which act as assets in treatment, there is a better opportunity for workers to guide treatment toward success.

Good results happen when services consider assets which can strengthen the process of meeting and addressing child and family needs.

Introducing Module 3
Module 3, Treatment Service Planning – Developing Goals and Objectives, looks at three components of the treatment goal package - goals, objectives, and service activities.  Each component has unique characteristics, yet they must work together.

Good results happen when collaborative planning leads to individualized treatment goals, objectives and service activities.
