Regulatory Plan
Executive Order Number 9, issued September 23, 1999, requires each
state agency to prepare an annual regulatory plan listing each potential rule currently
under active consideration or development that the agency reasonably
expects to issue in proposed or final form during the fiscal year.

The Department's regulatory objectives are to:
Adopt only rules that comply with state law and federal regulations.
Write the rules in a clear and understandable manner.
Weigh the effect and fiscal impact of the rules on our clients, providers, counties, other agencies, and the general public.
Involve the public, including advisory committees, other agencies and associations, and client advocate groups, in the rule making process and respond to public input in a timely manner.
Follow applicable rule making procedures.
Inform the public for each rule, in a simplified manner, what action is being taken and the principal reasons for that action.
By following these objectives, the Department will comply with the regulatory principles established in Executive Order Number 9.
