Minimum number of hours per week on average:

 

To meet the work rate, a FIP participant must be engaged in countable activities up to the following number of average hours per week.  These federal countable activities are divided into core and non-core activities. 

 

Single Parent with a child under the age of six

Single Parent with no child under the age of six

Two Parent Households

Average of 20 hours a week in Core Activities

Average of 30 hours a week with at least 20 of those hours in Core Activities. Non-Core hours may then be used to fill out the required 30 hours.

A combined average of 35 hours a week with at least 30 of those hours in Core Activities. Non-Core hours may then be used to fill out the required 35 hours.
